Did you know CSX operates between 850 and 1,100 trains a day on CSX track enabled with Positive Train Control (PTC)? Since its implementation, PTC has helped ensure our trains are operating safely throughout the communities along our network, and we’re only getting started. The CSX fleet of heritage locomotives is growing again with the introduction of CSX 1897, painted in a custom design honoring the Monon Railroad. Also known as The Hoosier Line and the Chicago, Indianapolis, and Louisville Railway, the Monon Railroad connected Chicago and Louisville, operating almost entirely in Indiana.
