Basil season is coming to an end 🌿 With the cooler temps rolling in, my basil plants have started showing damage — they just don’t tolerate the cold well! Since basil is an annual, I go ahead and pull the whole plant (roots and all) because that big root system takes forever to break down. After harvesting, I strip off all the leaves, give them a good wash, and pop them into the freeze dryer — my favorite way to preserve herbs! Freeze drying keeps up to 97% of the nutrients and the flavor is so
